WHAT IS RPET PLASTIC PACKAGING
rPET (recycled PET) is PET plastic that has already been used, collected, and reprocessed; it can be made into new packaging. It's still a Code 1 packaging material, but with reduced reliance on virgin plastic. It's a practical choice for food and beverage brands seeking clearer sustainability progress while fulfilling business needs.
Our rPET range includes 250ml and 350ml rPET juice bottles and lid combos made from 100% recycled plastic, suitable for juice and other cold drinks.
RPET PLASTIC PACKAGING RECYCLABILITY
rPET is fully recyclable. One of the key advantages of PET is its recyclability into new packaging, helping keep material in circulation through repeated recycling cycles. South African guidance advises removing caps in certain cases for safety and equipment reasons. In South Africa, PET already has a strong bottle recovery ecosystem, with PETCO reporting a 64% collection rate and a 60% recycling rate for PET beverage bottles placed on the market by its members in 2023.
